The mighty bulk of Harter Fell appears to rise almost vertically out of the southern end of Haweswater Reservoir.
There are actually two Harter Fells in the Lake District. The one photographed here is the Harter Fell in Mardale, the other being located near Eskdale. At 2585 feet tall this fell is the taller of the two.
