Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre // Penrith

See exciting demonstration and live displays of various species of birds of prey.

Set within the walled grounds of Lowther Castle near Penrith is Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre.The centre is home to over 150 falcons, hawks, eagles, buzzards and owls from the UK and rest of the world. It is surrounded by unspoilt parkland and its setting makes the perfect backdrop to watch various bird displays and sport of falconry in the flying demonstrations.

Visitors to the Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre can see the birds flown daily three times a day within the wall garden area. The centre also acts a sanctuary for birds and works to conserve birds of prey through education, breeding caring for orphaned and injured birds, with the aim to release them to the wild.


Experience days are available to book for private bird of prey days. You can also visit the vintage tearoom and gift shop.
