The coast to coast pathway is less than a mile away, and there are numerous other paths and trails in the vicinty. This spot really does offer a wealth of walking, right from the front door.
Within 10 minutes drive is the pretty market town of Kirkby Stephen (shops, pubs, restaurants). A little further is Appleby. The Lake District is 45 mins away, the Howgills and Yorkshire Dales, much closer.
