Lakeland Wildlife Oasis // Kendal

Explore the evolution of life on Earth at this unique interactive zoo.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis is a small interactive zoo close to the town of Milnthorpe in the Lake District and combines a range of exotic animals from around the world with hands on exhibits to create a unique zoological experience.

The zoo has a science and evolution theme that runs throughout and takes you on a journey through 3,000 million years from the development of life on Earth, combining the excitement of a zoo with the educational aspect of a museum.

It is divided into several sections including an aquarium, butterfly hall, tropical hall and various outdoor areas. Visitors can get close to nature including birds and bats flying in the tropical hall, lizards, ants, snakes, frogs, monkeys and lemurs.

In 2011 Lakeland Wildlife Oasis welcomed their first snow leopard with a fascinating walk Perspex through tunnel. It also participates in breeding schemes for several endangered species.
