Montfort Cottage Guest House is a lovely, compact and bijou Visit Britain accredited 4* rated guest house. A 19th century Lakeland stone terrace cottage, it is ideal as a romantic getaway for couples looking for comfortable and affordable accommodation in Windermere, the heart of the English Lake District.
The guest house is personally run by its owner, Leigh Giles, and is the perfect accommodation base from which to explore the stunning scenery and natural beauty of the Lake District.
Situated in a quiet residential area close to Baddeley Clock Tower, the midway point between Windermere and Bowness, Montfort Cottage is just a 10 minute walk from either village and their abundance of shops, restaurants and traditional pubs,  and a short distance from Lake Windermere itself.
For a small extra charge, guests of Montfort Cottage are also entitled to membership of Parklands Country Club in Bowness during their stay, so don’t forget to bring your swimming costume and a towel! Facilities offered include the use of the gym, swimming pool, spa bath, squash court, steam bath and sauna - all for just £1.25 per person per day.

Montfort Cottage is conveniently situated between the two villages of Windermere and Bowness in the Lake District, both of which are just a 10 minute walk away. From the M6 motorway take Junction 36 and head towards Windermere on the A591. When you enter the village follow the one way system and head towards Bowness. After approximately ½ mile turn left at Baddeley Clock tower onto Lake Road. Princes Road is immediately on the right. Drive along Princes Road for 150 metres, Montfort Cottage is situated on the right hand side of the road.
