Montfort Cottage is personally run by its owner, Leigh Giles, and is the perfect accommodation base to explore the Lake District, just a 10 minute walk from both Windermere and Bowness villages with their abundance of shops, restaurants and traditional pubs, and a short distance from Lake Windermere itself.

Complimentary use of the leisure facilities at Parklands Country Club in Bowness is also included. Facilities offered free of charge include the use of the gym, swimming pool, steam bath and sauna. Don't forget to bring your swimming costume and a towel!

Montfort Cottage Guest House has gained an enviable reputation locally for its friendliness and excellent service which, accompanied by a hearty breakfast, have helped build a regular clientele.

There are 4 tastefully decorated contemporary style guest bedrooms at Montfort Cottage, each providing accommodation for up to two people in a double bed. All have en-suite facilities except one, which has sole use of a private bathroom. For that special occasion, honeymoon or romantic weekend, there are two rooms with four poster double beds.

Each bedroom comes equipped with a hospitality tray which provides complimentary hot drinks (Cadbury's Hot Chocolate, Nescafe Coffee and PG Tips Teabags), wine glasses, corkscrew and biscuits; colour TV/Video (we offer a free film library): CD/Radio/Alarm clock; cuddly toy; professional 1800 watt hairdryer with diffuser; and a steam iron & ironing board as standard.

Montfort Cottage uses a professional laundry service which provides quality crisp white Egyptian cotton bed linen and soft white fluffy towels. Your choice of room can also be upgraded to our superior option, which includes added extras such as a bowl of fresh fruit, additional towels (bath sheets) and bathrobes. For stays of three nights or more we include a bottle of red or white wine.

Directions

Montfort Cottage is conveniently situated between the two villages of Windermere and Bowness in the Lake District, both of which are just a 10 minute walk away. From the M6 motorway take Junction 36 and head towards Windermere on the A591. When you enter the village follow the one way system and head towards Bowness. After approximately ½ mile turn left at Baddeley Clock tower onto Lake Road. Princes Road is immediately on the right. Drive along Princes Road for 150 metres, Montfort Cottage is situated on the right hand side of the road.
