Riversdale is a typical Lakeland stone house quietly situated on the edge of the village, overlooking the River Rothay with views of Helm Crag, Silver How and the fells around Easdale Tarn.

Catering exclusively for non-smokers and recent winners of “Bed and Breakfast of the Year” awarded by Cumbria Tourism, we are open throughout the year. With quality and comfort as our watchwords, you will find that Riversdale will provide you with an ideal base from which to explore the many facets of The Lake District.

Accommodation can be booked on a Bed and Breakfast only basis, or with evening meal. A varied choice of breakfasts, including a vegetarian alternative is offered. These are freshly prepared using the best of local ingredients and, together with our home made breads and marmalades, will set you up for the day. The pre-booked evening meal is a set menu, freshly prepared to cater for guest’s individual dislikes and most dietary requirements. We are not licensed but you are welcome to bring your own wines or beers. Packed lunches are also available.

The comfortable Guest Lounge contains a variety of books, magazines and games, as well as free WiFi internet access. To help you plan your day, a good selection of local guides and suggested walks is available alongside details of places to visit and current events. Guests also have the use of an attractive patio area that gets the sun for much of the day and therefore makes an ideal spot for relaxation.

The three delightful bedrooms are all decorated and furnished to a high standard with a number of personal touches to make them a home from home. Each has a flat screen TV with radio, together with a well-provisioned hospitality tray, a silent fridge, hairdryer and toiletries, Egyptian cotton bedding, towels and bathrobe, all designed to ensure your comfort. In winter months there is the added luxury of an electric blanket to compliment the full central heating.

The double-bedded room overlooks the river and has the benefit of a seating area and a well-equipped en-suite shower room.

With views towards Silver How and Helm Crag (otherwise known as The Lion and The Lamb), the comfortable twin bedded room has an en-suite bathroom and a small seating area.

The superior bedroom is our largest room, with a 5’ double bed, a large seating area and a spacious en-suite bathroom. It has a dual aspect with views towards Helm Crag as well as overlooking the river.
